CreativeMornings is the world’s largest face-to-face creative community! Lectures are held once a month on a Friday morning based on a word theme. This is a hypothetical take on the event using the theme ethereal. It centers on the idea that dreams have long since been a source of inspiration for people that transcends all boundaries. This takes individual photos and combines them into a cohesive otherworldly image that attempts to capture the feeling of that ethereal subconscious dreamscape while demonstrating the creative process at work. Giving the viewer the feeling of peeking behind the curtain to see the tools used to bring that ethereal creativity to the waking world.

Type on the poster: Dreams have long since been a source of inspiration for people that transcends all boundaries. Everyone sleeps, and therefore, everyone has found themselves cradled in the ethereal subconscious of their minds where anything is possible. Ideas are born through dreaming. It is there that our mind is free to explore the full extent of our creativity, giving rise to ideas that follow a person into their waking life and inspire their next creative endeavor. It surrounds the creative process in a shroud of ethereal beauty that leaves people yearning to return to it.

As Art Director, I created key assets and designed the event poster Ethereal. I handed off my key assets to Emily Chappell to create promotional ads for the event with given specifications of various sizes.

Images used to make the collage:
Images are open-sourced, along with the last one created by hand.

Emil Chappell constructed the website header and Instagram posts below with my direction and my created assets. We went through two revisions before completing the final design.
Emily Chappell's CreativeMornings Verge Poster
Choosing the word theme Verge, Emily’s vision was to push the limits of what creatives are capable of. She created the key assets and designed the event theme and poster Verge.

Type on the poster: Creatives spend much of their time pushing limits, stretching their minds, running towards the verge of creativity. One may catch us daydreaming about our next big idea, pacing the floors or running to our sketchbooks, unable to contain our excitement. The wheels are constantly spinning inside our heads, hands rushing to create. Creatives have a unique ability to push the bounds of creativity and design. Embrace it, be open to ideas that are far fetched and push the limits!

As a Production Designer, I used Emily’s assets to create promotional ads for the event within the given specifications of various sizes. We went through two revisions before completing the final design.
Additionally, I created new type, ‘Pushing Limits’ and ‘Stretching Minds’, to match Emily’s original handwritten type.
